Pigna guestbook

30 Sep

This couple were getting married in an Italian village called Pigna – which translates as pine. As a result, they decided to theme their invites around the symbol of a pine cone. They used an orange-brown colour for the text and the pine cone motif was dotted throughout.

I originally tried blind embossing the pages with a pine shape but it was a little too subtle and unclear what it actually was. Instead I drew a pine cone on the inner page, mimicking the one found on the invitation. The autumnal colours of the guestbook worked well with this motif.

Funky baby memory book

10 Oct

Here is a baby memory book that I made for a little boy called Gregory. I wanted to avoid the traditional ‘blue for a boy, pink for a girl’ colour coding, so I chose a funky grey floral paper that had an unusual combination of pattern and colour.

The details about the baby are filled in on the righthand side of the page and a photograph can be stuck in on the lefthand side. This book is a highly personalised gift with the baby’s name used throughout the memory book.

Sunset orange wedding album

31 Jul

This album was made to match the bridesmaid dresses which were a beautiful shade of orange. I found the paper in Daintree, a local paper shop in Dublin, Ireland. They also had a green version of the coverpaper which I bought too – one for Autumn and one for Spring.

I originally had planned to use a darker bookcloth colour – brown or maroon perhaps – but the red seemed to set off the orange colours the best.
